Public Sector Management (PSM) Program

The key objective of the PSM Program is to enhance the knowledge and skills of middle to senior public sector managers and emerging leaders.

The PSM Program aims to give public sector managers an appreciation of their operating environment - the scope and diversity of the contemporary public sector, the centrality of policy to the business of government, and some of the challenges of working as a public sector manager. This comprehensive program combines tertiary study with experiential learning.

This tertiary program aims to improve capabilities in:

  • political management (policy skills, strategic management),
  • accountabilities (decision making, ethics),
  • relationship management (leadership, communication) and
  • delivering results (people, performance, planning, and problem solving).

What qualification will I receive?

A Post Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management.

Additionally, the Program provides credit into a range of further post-graduate studies.

How much time does the course require?

4 (3-4 day) workshops over 12 months and completion of a work based project (3 months)

Who is the program for?

Mid to senior level management and emerging leaders (L6 – L8)
