Information for training providers

We have provided resources to assist Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) when developing training materials for qualifications from the Public Sector Training Package (PSTP04).

This page deals with the core units of compentency, and there are also resources for elective units.

These WA Public Sector-specific resources can be used to customise training materials for the core units of competency from the following qualifications:

  • Certificate II in Government (PSP20104)
  • Certificate III in Government (PSP30104)
  • Certificate IV in Government (PSP40104)
  • Diploma of Government (PSP50104)
  • Advanced Diploma of Government (PSP60104)

The resources have been collated into 10 generic Competency Fields:

  1. Government Processes
  2. Ethics and Accountability
  3. Workplace Communication
  4. Service Delivery
  5. Policy
  6. Teamwork
  7. Research and Analysis
  8. Diversity
  9. Workplace Safety
  10. Legislation

As an initiative of the Public Administration Industry Working Group (PAIWG), these resources are designed to support skills development within public administration occupations across the WA Public Sector.

This is not an exhaustive list of public sector publications and should be used as a guide only. Training organisations must validate the training materials and use them in conjunction with agency-specific resources.
