Accountability, Governance and Ethical Decision Making Forum for Board Chairs

The Public Sector Commissioner recently hosted a number of forums to provide an opportunity for Board chairs to meet and discuss issues surrounding accountability, governance and ethical decision making in public sector boards and committees.

Three repeat sessions were held on the following dates:

·         Session 1 - Wednesday 20 May 2009
City West Function Centre, Plaistowe Mews, West Perth

·         Session 2 - Wednesday 3 June 2009
UWA Club, Hackett Drive, Crawley

·         Session 3 - Wednesday 10 June 2009
Stirling room, Parmelia Hilton, Mill Street, Perth

There was no cost to attend, and refreshments were provided.

Company Directors Course Scholarship for Women 2008 (Candidates announced)

As part of the Western Australian Government's commitment to increasing the representation of women on Government boards and committees, 10 scholarships to undertake the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Company Directors Course were offered during 2008. Profiles  of the successful candidates are now available from the Office for Women's Policy at www.communities.wa.gov.au or telephone (08) 6217 8230, free call 1800 199 174 (regional).

OPSSC Conduct Guide for Boards and Committees

The Office of the Public Sector Standards Commissioner has released a new Conduct Guide for boards and committees. Three new products have been developed:

  • a conduct guide for boards and committees
  • supporting information
  • a template code of conduct

Principles of Good Corporate Governance

Featured on this website, the Public Sector Commission released the Principles of Good Corporate Governance for Western Australian Public Sector Boards and Committees (the Principles) in late January 2009. Start here to learn more.

 

Misconduct Resistance

The Corruption and Crime Commission has released Misconduct Resistance – An Integrated Governance Approach to Protecting Agency Integrity. The misconduct resistance framework and supporting resources have been developed to assist agencies plan, implement and review their own whole of agency approach to misconduct resistance. 

 

Accountability and Ethics Training Program

The Public Sector Commission has developed a downloadable training program for public sector agencies called A guide to accountable and ethical decision making in the WA public sector.
